Seafood Cabin
Skipness

With spectacular views across the Kilbrannan Sound to Arran, and resting within Skipness Castle Estate, The Seafood Cabin is a unique and character waterside gem. Hens and ducks wander under picnic benches pecking for crumbs; visitors are encouraged to freely roam the glens and woodlands that form part of the Estate, and the long sandy beach that borders the grounds is the perfect place to build up an appetite.
And you’ll need one. Our wholemeal crab rolls are infamous now-local fishermen keep us well supplied with fresh crab throughout the summer, and our langoustines are served simply with a fresh herb dip. Salads are mostly home grown - a mixture of lettuces and herbs. Smoked products come across in a boat from Sophie's brother’s smokery on Arran - trout and salmon are particular favourites. A simple, wholesome fresh menu of local seafood and shellfish enjoyed outdoors against both a castle and seashore backdrop - the perfect way to while away the time.
For pudding - try Sophies home-made Orange Cake - light and brightly coloured thanks to the yolks of fresh duck eggs collected daily and A glass of wine. A steaming mug of coffee. Perfect really.
