Hogmanay 2015 was celebrated in style at The Pierhouse Hotel with fantastic food, fancy footwork, fireworks and friendship.
The New Year's eve celebrations at Seafood trail member, The Pierhouse Hotel in Port Appin, will go down in history as probably the best Pierhouse Hogmanay ever! The 5 course candlelit meal was fantastic, the music & ceilidh dancing were great fun (beginners soon got into the swing of things!), the fireworks from the end of the pier were phenomenal and lit up the clear midnight sky over Port Appin. Guests said that it was just such a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and was truly the ideal way to see out the old year and bring in the new.
Head Chef, Laura Milne, put together a stunning celebration menu including an amuse bouche of grilled surf 'n turf skewer with kale chips and miso dip, then maple & whisky cured salmon with rye bread crisps and dressed leaves, followed by baked fillet of monkfish with sage, cranberry, pine nut stuffing. Chocoholics were rewarded with an assiette of chocolate desserts:- millionaires mousse, espresso custard tart with sugared pistachios, white chocolate & nutmeg panna cotta. Mmmm, sounds lovely!
